I need to make money fast and legally. Are there any ways to do it?…
Sure there are!
But, in order o get that cash fast, you need to (in most cases) forget about the traditional way you build a business. When there is an urgent need for some quick cash, there simply is no time for goal setting, planning, execution and what have you.
I need money now and I have to lay my hands on some cash now and here, and disregard any thoughts about how I go about it would have any impact on my longer-term financial goal.
So, if you are ready to make some fast cash legitimately and without doing anything illegal, here are a few methods you can use for when you are in desperate need:
Here Are Some Off-Line Ideas
- 1. Offer Small Services in Your Neighborhood
With Christmas coming, it could be an ideal time to declare your availability to help neighbors and families put up Christmas lights on their homes.
You can advertise your service through flyers distribution, or simply post them on those bulletin boards of the grocery stores.
The rate may vary depending where you are but I think it is reasonable to ask for about $200, perhaps more if there is more work.
You can charge your service based on hourly rate but most homeowners would be more comfortable dealing with a flat rate.
Get on with the idea now…
Start knocking on doors straightaway as there are families who have already get started with their Christmas decoration.
You will come across families who want your engagement only some weeks down the road. Don’t get discouraged by that. At least you are guaranteed of some income in the future. After all, the Christmas Day is not movable, it invariably falls on the 25th day of December.
Get your business cards or flyers handy and hand them out at every opportunity. You can also leave them inside the empty shopping carts lying around the shopping malls.
Tips:
- Design a service package that is attractive. For example, you can propose to hang the lightning up before Christmas and take it down when Christmas is over.
- Always include family and friends in your distribution list designed to publicize your service.
- Make a habit of using calendar/appointment book so that every detail (like schedules and addresses) of each transaction is recorded. This helps you to make sure you don’t inadvertently skip any appointment.
- Anybody can hang lights unless you have a problem with ladders or heights. If Christmas lighting is not your thing, you can always choose housecleaning or snow shoveling.
Turn it into a Long-Term Business
Well, there is always the New Year’s celebration right after Christmas, so you could be assured of plenty of casual work in the days after Christmas.
But what happened if your financial situation goes on for even longer period?…
The truth is that there are always all these odd jobs around us throughout the year. Some people are just happy to pay for help in order to get their things done, e.g. organizing garage, fixing those newly bought Ikea cabinets, painting, mowing lawn, etc…
These are all perceived as necessary stuff but for one reason or another, they are all not done. Mind you, they could be very rewarding.
I was once paid $70 just to set up a plug and play entertainment center. I also previously got $50 for clearing garden and $25 for shoveling snow.
You can also look out for help wanted ads posted in newspapers and Craigslist. Zoom into your area and look out for gigs you can handle competently. In fact, most of these jobs are easy and take little time, and they pay in cash.
This is perhaps the fastest way to get the cash. Many blood donation centers will actually pay you as soon as they get your blood.
Do a simple search online and find the nearest blood donation centers. You will have your cash in hand within hours.
Another great way to hold the green in your hand within an hour or so is to take some of your cloths (preferably old and unused ones) to your local Plato’s Closet (or an equivalent store). They pay you cash right then and there.
On top of selling clothes, you can also sell them sunglasses, belt, shoes and other accessories.
I usually don’t like to recommend this as most pawn shops give you a small fraction of the value of what you are pawning, but as a last resort it’s an option that exist.
The good thing is that you can pawn almost anything (tools, jewelry, electronics, etc).
Here Are 2 Online Ideas
- 5. Offer Google Local Listings
Recently I wrote a step by step guide where I explain how one can
make at least $400 a month by simply offering Google Local listing services to small local businesses.
But the gist of the idea is this:
If you are one confident chap who knows the nitty-gritty of Internet marketing like the back of your hand, you probably know that every business owner wants to be listed on Google.
Seek out local companies who don’t have a listing in
Google Local. Give them a call and tell them you’ll get them listed for 100 bucks (or whatever amount you think is fair).
It takes you less than 30 minuets to list a business on Google Local.
Sure, doing this once or twice you may not make a lot of money fast, but imagine getting a few clients every week, that can add up to a decent amount of money to the point where you may be able to do this regularly and expand it beyond your local area.
Another on my idea revolves around
selling stuff that you no longer have any need.
Craigslist is my favorite online platform to list out my unwanted items.
I once sold my iPhone for a cool $160 in just under an hour, not the most impeccable condition, as the audio and speaker phone have not been working well. I also got rid of my Sidekick phone that has been laying around for $100 in just 20 minutes.
Take Away
I understand when there is a shortfall in cash situation things can get really desperate. Some people resort to illegal activities, but most of us wouldn't want to have anything to do that would break the law.
My point is that if you are really desperate, then there are many things you can do to alleviate the situation and make some fast cash legally, you just have to be willing to take action and do it.
